Micah can't quite understand what they're saying - the store is too crowded - but the subtitles at the bottom of the screen are glad to help. Amidst the busy streets, a fox and a rabbit walk together, joyfully talking to each other. He looks at the screen, witnessing a colorful city full of anthropomorphic animals. "Hey, Micah, look at that!" she says, pointing at a nearby television screen. She looks around, her eyes glimmering as one of the TVs piques her interest. Disney is a multibillionaire company, after all, and if they want to waste money with unnecessary gimmicks, so be it. It's a strange thing to see inside a store, but Brianna doesn't question it. They each exhibit a different movie, which Brianna can only guess they were made (or at the very least, produced) by Disney themselves. Regardless, Brianna focuses on something else.Įxtending from the ceiling are a variety of television screens. Price tags, with more digits than Micah is willing to count, are glued to each piece of merchandise, stating their apparent worth. A myriad of shelves stretches themselves into the horizon, allowing all the toys and plushies on top of them to bask under the multicolored ceiling lights. No sooner than they step inside, the couple curiously inspects the place. It's a Disney store, needless to say.īoth Micah and Brianna smile at one another, gleefully entering the store. How could they, after all? The store in front of them feels mesmerizing, with the countless plushes decorating its shelves - not to mention the glimmering lettering above its entrance, where the word "Disney" shines brightly. It's quite an incredible sight, even if it feels oddly frightening.īut the couple wastes no more time eyeing the crowd. Adults and teenagers alike enter and exit the stores, dragging a myriad of plastic bags alongside them. The shopping mall - the last one in their city - is booming with activity. The sea of people walk around the building. But despite being aware of such a socio-economic decline, Micah and Brianna can't help but question the veracity of such tales as they stand still, watching Stores are closing down, and shopping malls are ceasing to exist. It's far from an exaggeration to claim that they'll soon meet their demise, especially in countries such as the United States. People are often quick to state the decaying nature of shopping malls. ![]()
